Learning to read music


Learning to play with skill can be very rewarding, however is impossible if you do not first learn to read music. Learning to read music is really very easy, it's an skill that develop in each lesson until you become proficient.

How to read music notation


The Musical Staff
In musical notation, normally the musical staff or stave is a structure of 5 horizontal lines on which musical note symbols are situated to indicate pitch and time.

Staffs can either be treble clef staff or bass clef staff, if these are combined it is called a grand staff.

The 2 main kinds of musical clefs are shown below & the notes for each clef are shown on it, Middle C has been underlined with a green mark. Learning to read music - Treble Clef

Musical Scales
In the musical language, a level is an ascending or descending series of pitches or notes. Each note in a musical level is referred to as a level degree. Though there are several different kinds of musical scales from chromatic, modal and complete note scale to minor, arabic and Pentatonic scales.

For demonstration purposes the scale of C is outlined below.
