Uilleann pipes: Type of bellows-blown bagpipe used in Irish traditional music; bellows are elbow-manipulated.

Union pipes: See uilleann pipes.

Unison: Two or more voices or instruments playing the same note simultaneously.

Upbeat: Last beat of a measure, a weak beat, which anticipates the downbeat (the first beat of the next measure).
