How to play: Also called as double bassoon, this wind instrument is bigger than the bassoon & is pitched an octave lower. It's played similar to a bassoon, however by his construccion and size, the fingering slightly varies.

Family: Wind

First Known Contrabassoons: One assumes that it had origin in the 17th centuary, it used to have 4 parts & only 3 keys. Nowadays, the contrabassoons cannot be disassembled because it come in one piece.
