| How to play: |

In European shawms, a pirouette is used to support the lips & protect the reed. The piruortte is a lip ring or a wooden disk. Actually there are 3 main techniques in playing the shaw:
Using the aid of a pirouette.
Placing the reed between the lips.
Blowing into a windcap wherein the reed is placed.
