Florida State University (Florida State University College of Music)
The College of Music has a student body of 650 undergraduate and 350 graduate students, representing nearly every state in the nation and 20 foreign countries. A maximum enrollment of approximately 1000 is self-imposed in order to provide all students individualized instruction and a balanced ensemble experience. The faculty of artist performer-teachers and scholars of national and international repute numbers 85, with 225 graduate teaching and research assistants. The ratio of students to faculty in the College of Music is approximately 8 to 1, the average class size being 14 students. At the graduate level the average class size is 6 students.
