Mount Holyoke College (Music at Mount Holyoke)
The music major is designed for students with a wide range of interests, backgrounds, and career goals. It is intended to provide a broad and varied acquaintance with history, theory, and literature of music as well as to develop skills in performance, analysis and synthesis. The inclusiveness of the major derives from the philosophy that the integration of thinking about and performing music fosters musical awareness and critical perception. Students who elect the music major are prepared to go on to graduate school.
