The Department of Music is housed in the modern and beautiful Mary Duke Biddle Music Building, which provides superb facilities for its diverse needs; Its curriculum that combines theory, history, ethnomusicology, and performance. At the graduate level the Department of Music offers programs leading to the A.M. and Ph.D. in Composition and Musicology, and the A.M. in Performance Practice. The programs include courses, seminars, and independent study in composition, ethnomusicology, music history, music theory and analysis, performance practice and interpretation, and interdisciplinary studies.
