FAU offers professional degree programs in Music Education, Music Performance (Classical), Jazz Studies, and Chamber Music and Accompanying. The Music Education program prepares students for careers as elementary or secondary school music teachers. Music Performance and Jazz Studies are programs designed to prepare students for careers as professional musicians. The Chamber Music and Accompanying program is for pianists who want to be professional accompanists. A general liberal arts program in music is also offered for students who have a serious interest in music but do not want to pursue careers as professional performers.
