The U C Berkeley Department of Music, established in 1905, is one of the oldest and most prominent in the country. There, the serious student, both undergraduate and graduate, can undertake a program of study that balances composition, musical scholarship, and performance in a liberal arts setting and is grounded in the resources of a major research university.
