The Department of Music at the University of Alabama in Huntsville has two interrelated curricular goals. First, the department seeks to provide for music majors a program of superior quality, one that enables students to begin their musical careers upon graduation, or to pursue studies at the graduate level. It is also a suitable program of study for students who have not established specific professional aspirations, but who desire the benefits of a broad liberal arts education. Second, the department seeks to contribute to the general education curriculum opportunities for students to experience both the academic discipline and the art of music.
