USAO Music

The Bachelor of Arts in Music Education prepares students to be effective elementary and secondary teachers. In addition to the Interdisciplinary Studies Core and the Music Core, this degree involves 29 hours of coursework in the Education Department and one trimester of student teaching. Students may specialize in choral/vocal music or instrumental music. Students completing this degree readily secure employment in the public school systems as choir directors, band directors and general music teachers.
